Journal - Even More Exciting News

Wow the blessings just keep showering down on us! In the last 30 days we got a new (used) car, and then I got the news from Country Extra magazine that they had published my story in their September issue, and now this! Can you believe it? I really never saw this coming! I’m still a little stunned! Oh wait, I haven’t even told you the good news yet, have I? Okay, get this:

When Country Extra sent me my complimentary copy of the September issue, there was a letter with it. It talked about things like how to order additional copies and that sort of thing and it also mentioned that IF my submission qualified for payment, a check would be mailed separately and would arrive in 4-6 weeks. I don’t know why some submissions would qualify for payment and others would not, and I had no idea if mine qualified, but I really wasn’t expecting anything further from them. Well, can you guess what came in today’s mail? Yep, it was a check in the amount of $250. The check is from Reader’s Digest so apparently Country Extra is owned by them. Having my story published was awesome but this is almost beyond belief!

God has just been so good to us and sometimes I have to wonder why. I just feel so unworthy. And, as usual, His timing is impeccable. When we got our car last month it needed brake work and four new tires. I was able to get the brakes done right away, and last week I got two new tires, but I was really wondering how I would be able to get those other tires before winter. But now I will be able to get them with a little left over. What a blessing!

Well, when God decides to send us a blessing, I suppose it’s best not to spend too much time trying to figure out why. I need to just be thankful, and perhaps try to think of some way that I might be able to help out someone else who may be in need. Come to think of it, I bet that’s something else God can help me with.

Luke 6:38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you. ESV

John 1:16 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. ESV

  1. My guess is our blessing streak is over? OR He has something grander in mind!
