Journal - A Day of Healing

Saturday morning I woke up and noticed an improvement in my vision right away. It was clearer than it had been on Thursday and Friday, and most of the patterns and sparklies were gone, although not completely.
We didn’t do much on Saturday, just took it easy and hung out here at home. It was windy outside, but not very cold so I went out and walked around the place for a little bit. Nothing strenuous, just walking and exploring.
Late Saturday afternoon I watched a movie. Yeah, watched. I always enjoyed watching movies and it’s something that I’ve really missed. The DVS movies that I’ve been listening to are a blessing and I’m so thankful for them, but it was pretty cool to pop in a DVD and see the pictures. For my first movie experience, I chose Star Trek: Insurrection, my favorite of the Star Trek movies.
Saturday evening I spent some time playing with my mp3 player. I learned how to use it while I was blind: loading movies or books onto it and listening to them, and switching over to the FM radio function. Last night I just explored it, looking at some of the other features it has and playing with settings and such. The print on it is too small for me to handle, but with a magnifying glass I can read it very clearly. That was fun.
And that was about it for Saturday. It was a pretty relaxing day. Throughout the day, I noticed some further improvement in my vision, and felt like I may have gotten back to where I was on Tuesday when the bandage came off. Overall, it was a good healing day.
